I"m building I WD 45 for pulling Anyone have any ideals to get more power its All stock with 4 1/8 piston any help would be nice

A d17 head intake and exhaust. The ports are larger. Will take a different carb as well. A combine cam I think has a different grind as well but I would verify that before trying it. Electronic ignition is a big help I have a wd that on paper anyway is about 70 hp. This should get it but mine has flat tops in it.

The ones that win will have 4 5/8 bore and a 6 in stroke. or 403 cu in. Cam Lots of head work, big carb aftermarket manifold. 160 hp. The WC that really runs is close to 500 cu. The sky is the limit! But if you start with a Late model combine motor. E Gleaner. Full pressure lub. Uses a Ford oil filter. Stroke it a half a inch. 5 inches. You can just use your old pistons and rods. Will have 75 to 80 hp. Change the ring and pinion to a D17 slower. 38 in tires. Will have a good farm stock puller. Also can put the WC trans in front of the WD trans. take out hand clutch. Go on down to the pulling site. Look back on there, is quite a bit of information about WD45's etc pulling tractors. Vic
