magneto spark plug wire removal

was going to put new spark plug wires on my fairbanks morse
mageto. I am sure the wires have been on a very long time.

the wires seem to be "stuck". I don't want to pull too hard and
damage something. Is there a trick?

Pretty much pull ans twist and hope for the best

worst case is the end pulls off the wire... and your replacing them anyway. You wont pull the cap apart.

I agree with the other guys, and would like to add that likely the wires you have are solid (stranded) copper core, and, unless the rubber insulation on the old ones is completely shot, installing new (modern/cheap) wires is a downgrade.

Unless you've got new wires fem a seller like Brillman.
