190xt - Worth fixing?

I have my grandfathers old 190xt series I, I believe. Tractor had a bucket loader as long as I can remember and jumped out of 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Power Director finally let go and tractor sat for a few years. I took possession of it, took the loader off and got it running again. Since I havent really done much with it seeing how much work is involved in getting it right.

Tractor has almost brand new rubber all the way around. Again tractor has been out of commission for probaby around ~10 years. Unfortunately, I do not have a shop or any way to work on it myself. I am afraid by the time I hire someone to work on it, I could have purchased 2 running 190's. It is cool that it was my grandfathers, and one of the 1st tractors I remember driving. How much is a parts tractor 190 worth? Start over with another one? I got it for nothing, but I dont want it to become the most expensive "free tractor" ever lol.

Just looking for some thoughts and advise seeing these Allis' all tend to have the same rear problems. Thank you!

The early XT190s tended to have more problems then the later ones did. And yes it can get pretty hard on the back pocket to repair the type of problems yours has

SeeTucker, thank you for your kind words.

But, sadly, the fact remains those tractors REALLY did have tranny issues from day one.

Dont think so....Our new 1973 model 200 AC started jumping out of gear the 3rd day that we owned it..Dealer was busy and said hold it in gear with your foot when plowing...After 3-4 days of doing that the dealer had time to fix it... It never gave a problem again..
