Cotton yarn oil filters

I am interested in who makes the cotton yarn oil filter for the Allis WD? I was told it will solve my pressure problem. Thanks!

Pretty sure the new Wix and Fram filters are cotton. You can open the box and tell looking through the holes punched in the filter base. For a few years the "correct" Wix number was paper. That has since been resolved.

I think the proper Baldwin filter is also cotton packed.

Most if not all filters on the market for the WD are yarn cotton filters. The debacle about the filters was 10 years ago. So unless you get a NOS filter you can't go wrong. Look at the filter bottom if it has a lot of little holes you are good to go. Fram C159 is another one that fits.

Also, is the tube in place that sticks upwards out of the base and into the center of the filter?

It acts as a restrictor to how much oil flows through the filter and is dumped in the sump, PLUS there is no flow through the filter/filtration without it.
