Have a chance to pick up a C pretty cheap. It rolls, engine is free. Sheet tin is pretty good, battery box is gone. Don't run. I haven't had the time to check for spark. Rear tires are decent with minor weather checking fronts are shot.

The question, would I be better off parting it out or should I get it running at least before trying to sell it?

Thanks

Rick

Not much money to be made either way. A running C might bring $500-800 depending on lots of things and there are not that many valuable parts on them, most of it would probably go for scrap if you part it out and they don't weigh much.Is there anything special about it? Wide front, wartime tractor, attatchments, weights.

The C is a good little tractor for things like raking hay etc. Depending on where you are I have seen a running one bring as little as $600 but also seen them bring $1500

OK thanks for the input. I don't need it. I rake with one of my Ford 8N's. But I think I can get it going for little of nothing and a new set of fronts and a little labor I think I can make it run. Where do I find the serial number on it?

crack the oil pan plug and check for antifreeze.
If none, and the engine isn't broken, it probably won't take much work to get it running.
Parts or a runner, like said, not a lot of money to be made.
If antifreeze is in the oil, walk away.
Some fixes for this are simple, some not.
But, if you are just trying to make a few bucks, chasing a antifreeze in the oil problem will eat into your profit quickly.

Nope wasn't going to chase coolant in the oil. Have to be a darn rare tractor to justify that!
