d 15 serail # and lift

Where is SN on d 15 series 2? Also where is hydralic valve body located? Lift is stuck in up position and will not go down. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
 
Hydraulic lift lever is opposite the throttle, behind the quadrant. Traction booster is the lever in front of it. Set TB lever down, then move the lift lever down.

Serial # is on carb side of tractor, on the sloping 1" wide front flange of the torque tube, just behind the engine #. It;s stamped faintly, and often ate up by dripping battery acid...
