7030 clutch

Baling third crop hay last summer I lost clutch pressure in my Dads 7030 tractor. Parked it for the winter. Got it in shop this spring. Very low on oil on dipstick under seat. Holds 7 gallons. put in five. I also found that I had a new oil leak. Still would not move very well. Found out I had 125 lbs pressure at power dirverter valve. Three times off taking it in to get shims in to get to 205-207 lbs its suppose to have. I still only can move tractor in low gears. Motor revs up in high range and tractor does not move. Not good. Whats next? New clutch to put in? Does this have a clutch like my IH 1586 or my Case 1170? Thank you and have a great day.

DISCLAIMER; these memories are 30+ years old.
We didn't have a lot of these tractors out back in the day, but they were quite trouble free.

Your story sure sounds like it points to a hydraulic issue. Two issues I recall. We had one customer's tractor which sat out a lot, and the clutch valve would corrode and stick. We also had one tractor where the "torque limiter", or dummy clutch, or whatever they called it, started to slip. It's at the flywheel like a typical dry engine clutch, but not usable. Seems like it was belleville washers which kept the pressure on it.

Best of luck.

when you lost clutch did pto stop turning also? might try to slip foot clutch in lower gears by loading clutch with appling brakes. do you have hi and low in power director?

Hello. I will have to check out the PTO. The power director still works and goes back to low when you push the foot clutch.
