Oil on brake bands, Model G

So I bought a set of used brake shoes for my G. The e-bay seller didn't bother to mention that a couple of them were partly oil soaked. How much will that make in brake performance? Can that oil be "cooked" out of the bands somehow?

I've never had any luck cleaning them . Steam cleaning , Gasoline, Lacquer thinner all kinda work at first , but after the lining gets hot , the oil bleeds right out again ....I bought a set for a Farmall here on this site, good quality and fair price....

Looks like they don'r have the bands here , just brake riveting tools

Heat them up and burn the oil off. Brakes are meant to stand heat.

Prices I've seen elsewhere for G brake bands aren't so fair!

Leon, you can PU a set of 4 linings and enough rivets on EBay for under $50, be sure the add says 4 linings, some people open the pack and sell per side to make more money. The G, D10, D12, D14, & D15 all use the same replacement lining
