Took my restored AC - C to a show this weekend. Has not run that much since the restoration/overhaul. Tractor got hot died a couple of times, but it started again. Got it back to parking spot -- gauge was high on green and tractor died. I thought maybe thermostat might be sticking. After it cooled down, re-started - took the cap off -- gauge moved into green area pretty fast --but looked like water was flowing back into the radiator through the thermostat. Any suggestions to look at?

Is your timing set right on the distributor? I redid my WD45 a couple of years ago and the first time I ran it, it ran hot and discolored my double wall chrome pipe. Found out the timing was off and once we got it back in time I have had no over heating problems since. Please excuse my ignorance if the tractor has a mag. I"m not very familiar the model C.

P.S. - I swapped to electronic ignition which caused a large change for me.
