AC 1-row planter help

Just picked this planter up today on the CHEAP!! Came with 4 different plates & seems to be in decent shape. Know nothing about it and looking for a place to start. Hoping to restore it as needed and use it in the garden/food plots. The only numbers I could find on it -[b:68fa0b3795]336652[/b:68fa0b3795]- return nothing on a Google search.

Can anyone assist with a model number or any additional info or tell me where to look? I can provide more pics if needed. Thanks in advance!

Would like more pictures. It shows parallel
linkage to lift but the square tube is missing.
Instead there is a blue bar with a chain. It
probably has a boot opener rather than the newer
disc openers. The packer wheel drives the planter
discs. The 4 plates are for 4 different seed
sizes, such as MR SM MF LF etc. You have to figure
out how to attach it to your tractor. It does not
seem to have a snap coupler hitch
Hope this helps a little.

Likely a take off unit from a bigger planter. Start looking at
pictures of bigger planters. Might be off a 333 bean planter, if I
remember the numbers right...

Thanks for the responses. I'll get some add'l pics tomorrow.

I've been looking for pics of similar, multi-row units, but haven't come across anything so far. Trying to use the seed box and rear wheel/spokes to find similarities, as I believe they are both originals. The metal seed box still has the labels on both sides.

Anything other 'telling' parts I should use for comparisons?

Thanks again!

That is a unit taken off a larger planter, had a 4 row with units just like that. Alot of people are taking the old AC no till planters and converting them to 2 row, not sure if they are getting their asking price but they want over $1000.00.

I"m no expert bt that unit is newer than the Allis "Drill Planter" vintage (1950"s) but older than the 70 (71,72,73,74) ground drive units used in larger planter frames from the 1970"s that are often broken up and re-made into food plot planters. Probably an older 50 series (51,52,53,54) planter unit based on the style of box which was uses as a fertilizer box on the "Drill Planter". Good luck. Mike

4th pic looks like a cobbled together 3ph for a small garden tractor. Upper link bracket and two lower pins.

It does look like a unit taken off a larger planter and converted to a 3 point hitch for a smaller tractor. If everything is freed up and you can get a to ride level behind the tractor it should work ok for a small plot. Make sure the boot is riding at the correct depth and the seed gets covered up sufficiently.

Good luck
