I am looking at trading another tractor I have for a AC 7000 with a knock issue. There is no water in the oil or vise versa. It is not getting hot. It starts fine does smoke some but after it warms up it begins to make a strange knock and screech like a bearing going out at the same time it begins to knock. The sound seems to be at the back of the engine. I have checked the other posts and have not seen a similar issue. Hours on the tractor are un known but tack shows over 6000 hrs. This is also a orange belly not a black.
I talked with a couple old AC mechanics and have been told it could be a cracked head gasket or warped head between the two rear cylinders.
Just wanted to see what you guys think and if it is very expensive to have a head pulled and re-worked on these engines? Thanks for the help.
