Friend of mine has a 7010 with anti-freeze coming out around an injector. I assume its a cracked injector cup. Can these be replaced without pulling the head and are special tools needed? We don't have a service manual on this one. Thanks in advance.

I don't remember when they started using it, but somewhere in there they used a brass sleeve, kind of swaged into the head. If that's it, yes the head has to come off, and yes it takes special tools.
I recall pressing them in at the AC dealership. Today I would go to a good engine machine shop.

Thanks Bob, I have the tools to do the ones in the Volvo engines used in the Volvo off road trucks like the A30.They are copper. You do not have to pull the heads on those, my reason for asking.

Interesting. I'd like to see that.
These had, I think, two o-rings at the top. The sleeve was then placed down in the head, then with the tools properly placed, the lower, smaller end was swaged over. This is all old memory for me. Seems like the old ones were just driven out from the bottom of the head, again using the proper tool. I think the swaged end just broke off.

Bob I have 2 pullers to pull the old sleeve. One is used if the little nipple breaks off. A driver and a tool to swedge and seal the nipple on the bottom. Kindly pricey set-up. Over $600 dollars,I think.
