Hey all...been awhile since I"ve posted on here...anywho...I have a 1950 wd45 that I"m gonna change the rearend fluid in...was wondering how much it takes and what kind you actually should put in..is it 80/90 or straight 30 weight? Or just what is it...thanks in advance

It belongs to a buddy of mine..he wasn't sure of the year so said they were the same for a few years and guessed it was a 1950 model...no need for smart a$$ comments. We are all here to gain knowledge of this old iron...

MolineBob,
Thanks for the kind words in your remark.
If any time you don"t know the years that a particular tractor was built, feel free to ask, no one will laugh at you for not knowing. A person has to ask if he wants to gain knowledge.

The original manual called for 80-90. Universal transdraulic fluid is way better for protecting bearings and gears. My WD45 has had hytran in it for over 30 years and never had a problem.
