WD power unit

I'm in the process of building a stationary power
unit out of a WD engine. I still need a bell
housing conversion unit though. It seems someone
on this site thought a lot of the bolt patterns
were the same. (125 / 201/ 226) I don't know, as
I still have the clutch on the engine. (I need to
make a template of the hole pattern). Does anyone
know about compatibility of any of these, or better
yet, where can I find one?

Not sure this helps much.

The bolt pattern was the same from the WC's up through the WD45's. D17's and maybe the 170's had a adapter plate so the same engine will fit all of the above.

125 (B,C engine) was common on lighter jobs, carnival rides, AC farm equipment, etc. Had diff bolt pattern than 201, 226. 201 and 226 have identical bolt pattern, used on heavier jobs like conveyors in quarries, etc. You say you have the clutch unit....what do you need? PTO, belt pulley?

JMS, I still have the "dry" clutch bolted to the engine. I'm sure you know the input shaft behind that stays with the "wet" clutch. (hand clutch/pto drive/ hyd.pump) unit. I'm not really interested in the side belt pulley, so I can do without that gearbox. I would like to find a factory conversion housing to reverse the shaft configuration (like you would see on the carnival units.) That way I can use it for whatever. I knew the 201 and 226 were the same, but other than that, I didn't know if any others would fit.

I should have also said that if I can find the factory type bell housing to make a power unit, the dry clutch comes off.
