7050 trans lube light

I checked my pressure at 2300 rpm with the tractor fairly cold and it was at 70psi. My light had been coming on when working in the field. With the wire unhooked from the sender the light is out until I rev up to almost 2000 rpm then it flickers. I'm sure it's not supposed to come on at all with the wire unhooked. I suspect a grounded wire but can't see any bad wire. Is 70psi OK with fairly cold oil? I suppose I should run it in the field and get it good and warm and check pressure again.
