My friend has a 8' snap coupling disk and a 3-16? snap coupling plow for his wd45. Would like to know what would be a fair price. They are not fixed up, straight from the fence line.

Thanks lockrotor

Disk is somewhat rare, but not a lot of demand, all sealed bearings and years ago they were $50 each, if any have to be replaced, better check them,

Plows not much more than scrap price as only a.c. folks could use them.

Some figures to work with:
Disc- $400
Plow- $100

plow will bring $350.00 here and the disc $900.00 to a $grand. Look at CL in your area, for a feel what your market is.

504,
may be more up to date on the price of snap couple equipment. There is a 8ft snap couple disc in my local craigslist for $700

my experience comes from years ago, buying equipment for an old D-14 in a area that had a large AC dealer back in the 50's and 60's. Back before scrap prices shot up, most old farms in that area had a few pieces of snap couple equipment laying around.

good luck and (((be sure)))) all pins and cotter keys are secure in that under belly snap couple tractor hitch. be sure the springs are in excellent working condition on the lift arm implement clamps.

you do not want the implements to come unhitched while plowing.

A WD-45 should already be equipped with the "Snap-Coupler" and Quick-release snap-couplers on the lift arms and are what every WD should be up-dated with..
A WD-45 should (depending on soil type and condition) pull a 3-16" IF it has loaded tires and good tires.. a 3-14" will be no problem..
We worked ground, puling 2 8' discs, one right behind the other with our WD-45..always in 3rd gear..

ball-pack bearings are pretty pricey but the disc in this area (so. ill) would be 250-300 if in good shape plow 100 at best

At the VERY Least (if you decide to go ahead and use the "Pin-type hitch" ) would be to Replace the SET-SCREW type lift arm ends, for the Quick-Release type found on the "Snap-Coupler" set-up.
Anyone who does not, is either a Raging Purist, or just plain has a death-Wise..!

Now, IF everything is properly checked and Secure, you should never have the Drawn arm come loose..BUT..I tend to believe in "Murphy's Laws".!

I have checked mine many times and those Quick-release couplers on the lift arms LET GO Immediately, anytime the lower draft arm is released (or come loose..which NEVER has happened to me)..
