Don't think WD and other 28"s fit, bolt hole # difference. I know JD and other 26" combine rims work, you just need to make sure back spacing is right for your fenders.

Most 8 bolt rims with a 6" dia. hub will fit, including the WD, WD45, d17, 170-185 wheels. The problem is with the power adjust rims you cannot spin them all the way in or the tires will hit the fenders. I have a D15 with 28" paw and they have a 2" spacer to eliminate this problem.

I guess you could mount a permanent block on the last hole on the rail to keep the wheel from sliding too far.....

Here is a pic of my D15. It has the factory "narrow" wide front option....I think it was set up for vineyard work. In this pic I put on a set of 18.4 x 28" rears just for can see I needed stop blocks about 3 holes out due to the 16" rims! Took it on a tractor scooted right along.

Here's a pic of the factory spacer....they are kind of hard to find, too.
