fuel tank filter

I think you can find sediment bowls that have a screen stand pipe. I tried rolling some fine mesh and JB welding it to one of mine. In the long run, you are better off cleaning and lining the tank. Not expensive or hard to do.

try this. get a plastic bolt and drill cross holes in it along with a hole up from the bottom,(opposite the head). then take a fine mesh sprayer tip filter off its plastic, you will have to break the plastic part. cut threads in the top of your sediment bowl, or whatever you have for fuel exit and screw it all together. this has worked gteat for many years on my wd45.

A better option, which I did, is buy a half pound or a lb of short drywall screws.

Put them in the tank and shake till your arms fall off....shake another half hour.

Remove screws any way possible (dump / magnet did for me) then rinse the tank.

The screws have a ton of sharp edges. With enough shaking, you'll scrub the inside of the tank down to metal. No more rust problems (other than a final bit of fine dust showing up for a while).
