Allis C oil pump

The oil pump has what looks to be an additional port which has a cork in it. The service manual does not mention this. I didn't remove cork yet. It the hole threaded so I can put a pipe plug in it? Should I remove cork and put new one in ? Does it need to be glued in ?

The cork is to plug a hole drilled in production to get to the other side. Don't remove it. Look it over good and you will see why it is there.

A CORK,(as in a wooden cork), or a plug ?

They are cork, like in a bottle cork, to plug a drilled access hole on the suction side.
