Allis chalmers 7000 oil sending unit

I want to plumb in a live guage in my 7000 but getting to the factory sending unit behind the fuel filter looks like a pain in the you know what. Is there a better and easier place to access and tap into a oil port? Then the dummy light would also work on the dash along with the live guage.

It's been so long, I don't remember. But if there were more ports they would usually be right along in line with what's there. I don't think there are on that block.

I don't recall removing the fuel filter assembly being a big deal. Your only option might be to remove it, making it easy to put a tee in the oil fitting behind it.
