All G's and their owners froze up?

I keep watching here for some cabin-fever-breaking discussion about a Model G tractor but it must be that this winter has all G's, or their owners, frozen up. Mine and I have! Here in NE Iowa, we're right at ten below this morning and the wind is up to 20 mph, probably won't make it above zero for today's high, then tonight it's to get cold - down to near twenty below. I moved 4 or 5 inches on new snow yesterday morning but it looks like there's about that much more new stuff needing moved now. I think our area is well within reach of setting new all-time records for both snowiest and coldest winter on record. Thank God for global warming, otherwise it would be nasty!

72 degrees here today Leon, couldn't pass up the chance to get a bit of seat time in!!!

Thanks Joe. The tractor looks as good to me as does the weather. The disk plow and front end weight are nice too. Thanks, that helped. Before retirement I used to get to the JD plant at Augusta quite often. I always enjoyed that especially this time of year. It provided a welcome break from the lingering winters. Georgia peach time was really OK too! - Leon

I know it was w/a Ford, but I only had to push about 4" yesterday before church after being out Sat nite w/your kid & his bride to watch your grandson nearly hurt himself playing notes I didn't think a trombone could play! Had a great time w/them & then seat time early the next morning!
Stay warm!!

GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU LYNN. GLAD YOU FOLKS MADE THE CONCERT. WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE A COUPLE OF THEM IN THE QUAD CITIES. I DON'T SUPPOSE AN AC "G" WITH IT'S MID-MOUNT BLADE WOULD BE MUCH GOOD FOR PUSHING SNOW IN OUR COUNTRY, SO I'M GUESSING OTHERS ON THIS BOARD WILL, AS WILL I, EXCUSE YOU FOR USING A FORD. THIS HAS BEEN A GOOD WINTER TO HAVE THE 59" BLOWER ON THE FRONT OF MY JD855. MOSTLY IT'S BEEN JUST LAUNCH THE SNOW INTO THE WIND.

Maybe you need one of these. It came with my G. I don't know who made it and there are some parts missing. Doesn't look like a home-built job. It's a real workout with the hand lift. Anybody know what it is?

I sure don't see anything like it, nor any snow blower for that matter, listed in my book of "G" implements. It looks really heavy so I can see how it would give your arm a real work-out. The blower is mounted on a lift arm longer than the lever your arm has to work on! With that, hydraulics would almost be a must. Where does it attach to the tractor at the back end? It's interesting that it's a single stage snowthrower, thus the double auger flighting that adds to the weight. I bet it plugs pretty easy too in heavy/wet snow.
