WD-45 Hydraulics

Would anyone happen to know what to know if an AC WD45 has an open or closed hydrualic system? I ran across a 3 point hitch log splitter that requires an open system and I can't find it in my manuals.

It is really neither. It is a relatively high pressure, low volume pump, with an unloader valve. Not appropriate for running items like a wood splitter, rotary motors, etc. Plus, if you do, it's REALLY slow.

Takes a lot less fuel to just have an engine/pump on the splitter itself. Why run 40hp when 5-8 will do?

I think you will be better off with a unit like mine, I have had it for 20+ years.
works good, 5 hp B&S engine and 22 tons of force. manual shows digging holes for the wheels so the I beam sets right on the ground, easy to roll bigger blocks right up onto the beam.

plus it leaves the tractor open to pull logs, lift and move split wood, etc:

has worked well for me, I have never operated one of the new stand up splitter, they may be much easier on the back, might be worth a try.
