AC WD reverse gear problem

Hello, I have a WD i just bought, and the reverse gear has no resistance, or "Click" when you put it in reverse or out of reverse. If you're not in gear and go down a hill it slides in and you're stuck in it, or if you push it too far you're stuck. The only way to get it out is to go on level ground, take out the shiftier put it into the reverse grove, take it out, and then go about your day. I know its something as simple as a ball bearing and spring, i just don't know where it is, and how easy it is to change. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like you"re talking about the detents. Take the tower off, turn it over, you"ll see three shift rails. There are little round covers you can pop off to get the rails out, and you"ll see grooves in the rails for the detent balls to engage. Balls and springs are inside the cover, alongside the rails. Helps to apply grease to hold little parts in place for re-assembly.
