I've wanted a WD45 diesel for a long time, and I guess Dad did too. He bought a nearly new WD45 from a neighbor widow. (It stayed until it was traded for our first diesel, a new 180.) We had gone to an auction when I was just big enough to remember coming home with a nice flat belt. I learned many years later that there had been a nice WD45D at that auction. Dad didn't bid on it because the oil on the dipstick was black!

I assume when Dad was looking it was before anybody knew much about engine problems. And that has kept my interest in check. I have a nice original WD45 and find it's not nearly as comfortable as one was 50 years ago! But if a series IV D17D w/factory three point, or a D19D w/factory three point popped up, or about any late D series, I couldn't resist.

Oh, you can get pretty comfortable on a WD or WD-45 once you get used to it..!
The controls are well positioned and you can change the position of your left leg to the rear platform if you like. I spent many, many hours sitting on the toolbox, when I was small.. That was on my Dad's WD-45 and my Grandad's WD. These are excellent small Baler tractors.
