There are at least 2, maybe 3 gearboxes, IIRR. Gemmer and Ross are 2 that I remember. You can bolt like to like, is the answer, I think. If I'm wrong, someone will chime in.

I'm just guessing, without doing any research. Hard to imagine that there were different torque tubes for each different steering gear. What I am thinking I remember is that the B steering gear was reversed(internally) from the C/CA steering gear.

I know going form the trike front end on a C to the wide front of a B that the problem is one was upside down from the other so if you put the B front on the C you turned the wheel right to go left

At the time the CA was made the same torque tube was used on both the B and the CA. So sure they will bolt fast. The B steering box has a shorter cross shaft and it has a smaller diameter shaft with different splines.

Look at the steering box on a C/CA.. the arm points up toward the gas tank. Look at the B.. the arm points down toward the ground.. Internally they have to turn opposite to make things work. YOu can also take a B and turn the arm the opposite direction to wrk. If you point the arm up/ or down / it operates in the opposite direction.

Have a D-10 sitting on my trailer that is reverse steer like that! Got to be dangerous to drive, either while your on it, or after you get off and drive something else, forgetting what you are on at the moment!
