d 17 hyd pump

does anybody know if i can install a series 4 hyd pump on a series 2 d 17 and if so will this make the pto live??

I believe there was a hollow shaft in the series IV D17 from the clutch pressure plate assembly back to the hyd. pump. drive, making it live. But it had nothing to do with the PTO, nor anything else.

on my d17 i added a front pump used the pump and resiovor from old gleaner k just built brackets as needed and got a valve from northern hyd.
