To ease my mind I would like to replace the rod cap bolts in my 3500 engine. It is on an L combine. I read in this forum about this and mention of installing bolts for high horse pulling engines which are much stronger. Are these available anyhwere?

I just looked at the part books. The L like I have uses bolts and nuts the L2 uses bolts that thread into the rods. Is it the ones that use bolts only that would break??

Always replace the bolts on either style rod
AGCO has the ARP bolts in a kit.
There is a different procedure to torque them than before
Torque and loosen three times, I think
Be sure and get the instruction sheet, don't go by the book
Also on some motors they want the rods turned around

Thanks that will make it easy to get the bolts. I sure hope mine does not need to come apart that engine runs great. But I sure don"t want to lose the engine either.
