Allis C oil priming problems

I am having trouble with the oil pump staying primed on my C. When this happens I take the line off by the tee that goes to the filter housing, squirt in some oil, put the line back on, then start it and the pressure comes up immediately. However, when I shut the tractor off for 2 days or longer I have to go through this whole process again. Any help on what is going on here would be greatly appreciated!!!

The check ball in the oil pump may be damaged or the check spring broken. Unfortunately you have to split the tractor.

If it be me, I'd drop the pan first to see if the suction pipe is cracked or loose. If the check ball is real bad it will not give good oil pressure.
It could be the pump cover wore out and lets the oil drain back into the pan.
That would only be checked by removing the oil pump.
