Gleaner G combine

A friend of mine bought a Gleaner G combine. A bearing locked up on the Hydro. Are there any experts who could give me some advice on getting it apart?

I think that is the one. he wanted to know if you have to take the whole shaft out or can you remove bearing without doing this. I haven't seen the machine I'm getting everything second hand.

I"ve taken a number of bearings off shafts on a Gleaner combine without removing the shaft. If the balls are gone, it"s easy to torch out the race and the collar. At times, the balls were intact, so I blew them out first with the torch. Then, there is plenty of room for the torch to remove the rest. Just remember the fire hazard when you torch.

it's a sucky job! got to remove the shaft. take all the outside stuff off of each side and remove it. only comes out one side. been a lot of years since I did it but I believe it comes out the right side. shop around for the bearing.
this isn't a fun job. 2 people are needed to get the shaft out and back in.

we ran gleaners from the 50's thru the 90's and always did our own repairs and replacing that bearing ranks right up there with the worse!
