I HAVE A7060 that is hard to start with out using ether. The manual says check transfer pump I can"t find one.

i have 7080 so it should be similiar. there is a hand primer near pump with rubber disc. if this is worn air can leak so check it with soapy water. also, it may have an electric pump from gas tank to pump. in injection pump there is also a pump to draw fuel in. if you crack injectors are you getting fuel drippin ?

The transfer pump is built in to the injector pump, at the fuel inlet of the injector pump. The hand pump check valves very well could be the problem, or it could be something at the inlet side of the transfer pump. The service manual refers to a residual pressure valve on the inlet side. ( way too much info to post !) The hand pump should be all you need to start it. A friend has a 7050 that won't start after it sets for a couple hours, a few "strokes" of the hand primer pump works every time.
My old 7060 needs the hand pump occasionally, It's usually parked for the winter but has to do "backup" duty for feeding in the winter. It can be a "cranky" starting old devil but a block heater and the hand primer pump always works. KEN

I don't know why your tractor(reason)is hard to start, but A-C came out with a update kit for the fuel line that moved the pickup (suction)line to the lower crossover(balance) line making it so air couldn't get in the line.It helped mine 100% on quicker starting. We are talking 35-40Yrs.ago so a good parts man maybe needed.
