The tabs go opposite each other, not on the same side. They are held in place when the crank pulley is tighten down. However I the pins must engage so they don't spin. I have a brand new set of thrust bearings (brass washers) if you need them. Bob

I think were ok for the washers, as i under stand it, they just didn't act like they were going to stay in the correct place. I think I'll get some pictures when I'm home for Thanksgiving and re post then.

They don't stay in place until you tighten up the crank jaw. That is also when you take readings for bearing thrust tollerances Bob

There are several other things to watch for as well on those N series Continental engines. My niece goes to school there too. Send me an e-mail and I will send you some pointers. J.
