A friend bought a D-19 with loader. When he raised the loader the pump gets quite and the loader quits moving. Wait a few minutes and it will go up a little father. Acts like the pump runs out of oil. Checked it and it has plenty in it. My D-19 does the same thing when the weather is cold. When warmed up it all right. What is happening when it acts like it is starving for oil.

Been there , had the same experience. On a D19 the hyd oil is actually in 2 compartments, theoil has to flow through a bearing to get to the compartment with the pump. The pump uses the oil in its compartment or case and it takes a little time for the oil to flow through the bearing from the pther compartment or case. This is even slower when the oil is cool.. I never found a cure----is what I would call a design error.. One solution would be to add a quart or so of additional capacity in the pump area.

Unite the 2 compartments by drilling and tapping hose fittings into the drain plugs, and joining with a short length of hose.
