New Project

Just got a new project an Allis B. It"s going to be different as I have been working on 3 Farmalls. It had a belly mounted sickle mower which I removed. I had a mower that was in better shape that I will put on it. It will be designated to mowing food plots. When we looked at it, it missed, and a rear was flat. Turned out to be a loose valve stem. There was water in the oil from sitting outside in the rain. Changed the oil twice and new filters twice. The oil is staying clean now. Put new spark plugs in, no miss. Runs good. Would like to change the spark plug wires. It needs a new front rim and it needs the correct seat mounted on it. I would like to find a hydrolic cylinder for it. After we get all that taken care of we may paint it. This will have to wait for spring since we have not got a heated garage.

Nice looking B. You got one with the adjustable front axle which isn't as common as the fixed axle. Just be a bit careful with it on real rough ground, the adjustable axles aren't as strong as the fixed ones.

If you need it I have the manual for that belly mount sickle mower. E-Mail is open if you want it

Thanks Old, I appreciate it but I also have a manual. I'm looking for a front rim and a hydraulic cylinder. Thanks again for your offer. Randy

I would reconsider on that seat !!! Dont find to many like that !! Actually its a decent looking tractor. If it runs good, then your on the right track. Change the oil, new filter, plugs and wires and your ready to go... I buy a lot of B parts on e-bay. Sometimes you can find the bigger items on craigs list.

I have a front rim for one since I have 2 part Cs and may have a cylinder but that I would have to look for.

The serial number says its a 1948 B.
I don't know what the past has been on the tractor. I'm sure we'll find more surprises.

Interesting as it has the adjustable front and the optional rear bolt on rims.

The bench seat is OK but will hurt your back on rough ground. I put a Monroe Seat on mine and made it much more comfortable.

Nice little B, we had one when I was a kid with the adjustable front end and rear wheels adjusted also. Learn how to drive tractor on it. Had to sit on the edge of the seat to push the clutch in. Father had a stoke when I was 8 so I had to learn fast, He would sit along the hedge row and tell me how it needed to be done.Talk about one on one time with your Dad! He is missed. Family grow cut flowers, vegetables and had herd of beef cattle. Simple easy to work on tractor, Some of the mount implements are hard to change off and on. Enjoy it.

That is a B with adjustable wide front. If you look at the width of the rears, a C would be much wider. I had one exactly like that that I purchased but it was too far gone to save. An adjustable wide front C is a lot rarer animal than this one.
