today i got a chance to work on my ca carb again and try a few of the suggestions. the fuel continuous to run out the intake. first i got rid of the inline filter and put a new line on. i then tested the old and a new float in a bowl of gas. both were fine. tried a new needle/seat. keep adjusting the float farther down, to 5/8". and even polished the inside of the bowl (friend said it helped on his ford). it was apart 7 times and used up 2 gaskets. i spent over 3 hrs on this and still have the same problem!!! i tried the "lung" test of flipping i over and blowing in the fuel port but it was closed and when i turned it back up right it was open.. this bleeeping bleeeping thing has gotten he ticked i could a bought a zenith replacement for the money and time i go in it. is there any thing else to try or is it time to throw in the towel and buy a new one?

#1 do you have the needle seat good and tight and have the gasket under it??? Needs to be nice and tight. #2 is it a newer rubber tipped needle?? If yes you need to put a set in it by dropping it in the seat then tapping on it a few times. 5/8 that has me thinking your adjusting it way wrong since most are in the 1/4 -5/16 range at best

yes. 1)seat is tight with a gasket. 2)yes both needles i was using are rubber. But i didn't tap them in.. will try that. 3) yes the 5/8 is way down there , but i was tring to get extra pressure to push the needle up on the seat.

If you get it to work Please tell me what the fix is! I have a zenith, on a B that I have the same problem with. Been blaming those darned Tisco parts.

as fast as it runs out, and with no visiable cracks i doubht the casting.
i will investagate the venting idea, checked and double the gasket the new one is one i made..
wich hole is the vent? i blew out every hole along with useing a wire and extra long tip cleaners.

The rubber tipped ones need to have a set put in them so that they will seal up. To put a set in one you drop it in the needles seat and tap on it a few times. Pull it back out and you should see a ring or set on the end of it in the rubber part

Easy float set and test. Turn the top upside down and make sure the float is parallel to the gasket surface. While in this position try to blow into the carburetor to see if you can blow by the seat. If you can blow air by with your mouth it will leak gas.
If the float is set parallel it is close enough that it will never cause a problem. I have been at this for many years and can not remember the time I actually measured a float setting on one of these old tractor carburetors. Make sure if you are using the little wire clip on the seat attatched to the float that it is not causing your problem.

had the same problem on my WD finally got mad and dug an old Marvel Shroder out of my junk box put it on and has ran great for the last 6 months.Shoud of done that $275.earlyer .

Check the carb to bowl gasket. I have found NAPA gaskets on Zenith carbs cover the vent hole and cause this problem.
