12V Battery

There was not a battery in the 51 WD when I bought it. It is a 12V system. What size AMP battery do I need. Need battery dimensions and location of posts. Where is the best place to buy one.

CCA requirements depend on where you live. Battery size is determined by the physical dimensions of the battery box, if you want to remain original.

anything over 550 CCA will be fine. You need to look at the battery cables that are installed and see where they reach to. 12 v was not original and cables have probably been changed. Measure the size of the box and get one that fits.

Group 25, 26, & 26R all fit your original box fine. I"ve used all three sizes in A-C batery boxes that originally had type 1 6 volt batterys.

Highest CCA battery that can be squeezed into the battery box.
As previously stated. Bargain bin battery cables from Walmart can't carry the current without excessive voltage drop.
