WC dip stick

Been meaning to ask this for a while. Changed the oil and filter. Everywhere I've read says put 6 quarts of oil in crank case. When I check the oil, level appears on bottom of full line on dip stick. Like it's low one quart. I counted the empties and am positive I put in six quarts. The OAL of the dip stick is 11 1/8". From the bottom of the stick to the stop or hilt is 9 1/8". From the bottom of the stick to the full lines are 2 1/4 and 2 7/8". The tube the stick slips into protrudes from the block 3/4". Do I have the wrong stick, or do I need seven quarts of oil. Thanks

I just measured the dip stick in my W Sped Patrol which has the WD/WC engine. From the bottom of the stop cup part of it to the end is 10 inches

I think you have the wrong stick. From the hilt to the marks on mine it is about 6-3/4 and 7-3/8 which would throw yours off by about a quart. You could scratch a new line in it or just remember to keep it a quart low.
