AC 180 diesel fuel shutoff leak

Hi folks-

I have a fuel leak, pretty good drip at the mechanism that cuts off the fuel and shuts down the tractor. It's on the outboard side of what I believe is the injection pump. doesn't leak when the fuel is shut off, only on. Doesn't affect the running of the motor. Any help appreciated. Maybe an 'o' ring?

A local pump guy was good enough to describe how, and gave me the parts to fix one of mine once. As I recall you take the top cover off, pull a special clip out of the shaft assembly, and it will come out. And I believe it was an o-ring.

The top cover comes off, shutoff cam pulled out of the notch, then stop shaft will pull out to replace the O ring. This may fix it for awhile, but if flex ring is failing inside the pump will need repaired. Small bits will plug the return fitting and cause housing pressure to rise making more leaks. Most pumps I see are needing pilot bushing replaced also.

Thanks for answering my question about the fuel leak. I think I need to have the injector pump rebuilt. Is the R and R something a shade tree mechanic could do if you rebuilt it. I'm pretty handy and I think I've located a service manual to help in the removal and replacement. What would you charge for a rebuild of the pump? The tractor is a 1969 AC 180.
