Hello I just bought a allis chalmers 7000. I haven't owned a allis since we had a b on the farm years ago. I was hoping anyone that had a 7000 could chime in with what they use or used theirs for. How many plows did you pull, how it handled their choppers stuff like that. I know they aren't a power house by today's standards but in their day they were quite a machine I think. Thanks

Dad, and i purchased one this spring at a auction. So far the biggest thing i have had behind it is my 16' disc, and it walked with it. I know it could handle a 18', and possibly a 21'. I hope some more people chime in, because I'm going to be shopping for a disc chisel, and a field cultivator/finisher to put behind this winter.

My dad once owned a 7030. It had no trouble with a 5 bottom including in heavy soil, good tractor, I liked driving it.

Our neighbors owns one, it's a nice tractor, he pulls 4 bottoms with it in hard clay but could pull more in different soil. He pulls a 12 foot haybine with it and a round baler he also disks a little with it. It's his main biggest tractor and has been pretty trouble free for its age! Best of luck with yours!

I have a good friend who has had a 7000 for 20 some yrs. It was his first cab tractor. The thing he brags the most on is the transmission. He has a new Massey Ferguson (I don't know the no. but is about 100 hp) It has a powershift trans, but when mowing with his 11 ft pull type disc mower, he thinks the 7000 has better speeds with the 3 speed torque. And it rides better. The trade off is in order to ride good, they are hard to get into and out off. He has a 16 ft disc and a 8 ft chisel plow.

My 7000 pulls 4x16's pretty easily could probably go bigger but with our heavy clay soils I like to have too much power at times. Pull a 16' disk but once again could probably pull bigger. I mainly use it on the round baler as we don't do a whole lot of tillage UP here. Couple weeks back I mowed some hay for a neighbor with his 14' hydroswing and like expected it was no problem.

We bought one new. the job it fit the best was swathing or baling. Ours was a red belly with the 4 speed and 3speed auto. the gear ratio's were perfect for most farm jobs. the heads like to warp but a good machinist can fix that, cheaply! we did have to put a clutch in it. had it for 25+yrs until I sold it to settle my dad's estate. I run 7020's now. cheapest horsepower, that is on the market.
