Just saved a Wd

Was supposed to be a Case.........turns out to be a WD. Was going to scrap on Monday.

So now I own a Wd. All is good, grew up driving one on the farm.

Pretty rough, rims rusted out(spin -out), tin not too bad , could use new fenders, engine locked, no idea why.

Is there a source for parts, like rims, sheet metal etc? Who supplies engine- trans parts?

For old times sake just might redo this ol girl.

Rebuild machinery for a living so this would be an easy fun project.

Check first if it has water in any of the cylinder with a wick stick etc. If dry fill with ATF and let it sit a week or so and it may well free up. Done more then 20 engine that way on so far only 2 or 3 did not free up and run just fine after

Where about you located? Boot Hill just west of New London, Ia. has rims and all you need.319-759-4893, ask for Waynn. (I try to add some aceatone with the ATF), but both will do the job.
Have fun and enjoy.

Here is one that I just finished, Old had some helpful thoughts that I used. I could not find the serial number locations.

Go walk to the rear of the tractor like your going to climb on. Lay your left hand on the brake cover. Your hand is sitting right above the serial number if you do that. Just below your hand is a flat spot where the numbers are hand stamped and that is why they are hard to find

Ok..... picked it up tonight during a downpour rain storm in a clay field..... Fun Fun !!

Will get serial, must be after 53 as it doesn't have a mag.

Thanks for the links for parts.

Would like to find a complete engine, may be easier than fixing this one. Found out is has been locked up for 15 years.

I'm in Va willing to travel a bit to get one.

I have a 1935 JD-B that was locked up I know for sure 15 plus years. Big thing is not that it is locked up but why it is locked up. Most engines if left for a long time will in fact lock up due to condensation. If the cylinders are not full of water you have a fair chance that you can free it up. I have a 1940 Farmall H I got in that had a 6 inch tree we had to cut down to move it and it was locked up and ATF freed in up in less then a week of soaking it. By the way A WC/wd/wd45 engine will bolt right in

Have a good wd45 engine still in reversed tractor . I would part it out. Had good solid rim tires not spin-out. Also good loader it's just on backward. sell all or part. Hear the engine run before it's pulled Located southwest Indiana email open
