G - over heating

Do not know that tractor well but sure would love to own one just because they where built in the same town I was born in. That said good chance the thermostat is bad or sticking

" good chance the thermostat is bad or sticking "

G's don't have thermostats.

First off, be sure your water level is all the way up covering the neck leading back down to the head, if it's low, it will not circulate or cool, be sure the fan is pulling air across the radiator and that the belt isn't loose.
How are you deciding it's running hot?

I think most G's don't have temperature gauges so maybe what you perceive as boiling over is really combustion gas bubbling up through the radiator. If so, hopefully it's caused by a bad head gasket rather than a cracked block

The little G has a very simple cooling system that has no water pump or thermostat. I'm not a expert but the hot water in the motor tends to circulate towards the cooler water in the radiator and on and on?!? How do you know its overheating with no gauge? Do you have antifreeze in it to raise the boiling point?? Ryan

The engine was rebuild and the builder had it for 2yr. When I had it running it would not run for over 15mins, then it would stop and I would have to wait to start it again. I felt the head and seemed too hot and the coil was also hot. Drained the cooling system and found A-corns in the system, flushed out the system and had radiator baked, but is still getting hot. ? would a 8-volt battery in a 6-volt system over charge the coil?

not sure if that's the main issue but the right battery is a good place to start. it could also be that some acorns are clogging the hoses or are in the head.
