my Allis runs rough. I pull the coil wire out about an inch and she runs like an "open sore".....I've tried everything from an electronic ignition and a 300 ohm coil, and nothing works. It's a converted 6 volt to 12 volts. I've just installed a resistor and that doesn't solve my problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch

Weal spark or old bad plugs can cause that. Your spark HAS to be a blue/white in color and jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. By pulling the coil wire out like that it makes the coil build up a stronger spark so in turn when it jumps it fires better. Fouled or old plugs will cause that and now days champion plug seem to be no good for this crap gas we have

Cleaned the Dist/Mag cap?

Which ignition are you using now..?

Is the Coil on it not for use with Points.?

Are the plug wires in decent condition.?

A Condenser can be BAD even when New, ya know..

Check to be sure you are not using any Resister that is the incorrect value, it could be dropping your ignition voltage too low..

Ron..

do yourself a favor and get a 12 volt coil and dont use a resistor... then check or replace the plugs and make sure you use copper core wires, not carbon. Clean the point and if all else fails, change the condenser as the guys said.
