D15 Series II - Oil

I have an oil dipstick at the center of my D15 Series II right behind the clutch. When I pull it out to check the oil it says to have the "ram extended". I do not know what this oil is for or what type of oil to use. I have looked in all 3 of the manuals I have and there is nothing on this. Can anyone Help???

You're right. I just looked through my D15II operator manual for a picture of the hyd. filler and didn't find it!
On the right side of the torque tube, just to the rear of the belt pulley opening cover plate is the cap/breather/dipstick for the hyd. system.
Under system capacities it shows hyd. system for about 10 qts. 10 or 20 weight. I use hyd/trans oil.

like others have said, Hyd dipstick. Pick the lift arms all the way up, to check, is what the words on the dipstick means.

Most any lighter oil will work just fine. That is a simple system that doesn't really require an ultra high , new technology oil. But as much as I hate to say it. HYTRAN would work.
