wd45 shifter

just bought a wd45 serial number 223799 and was wondering shouldn"t it hace a curved shifter? mine has a straight one. it keeps getting stuck in gear. do i need to weld bottom of shifter or is it because wrong one is in it. thanks

From what I understand, the shifters do not interchange. Does it look like a stock WD one, or has it been heated and straightened? It's possible someone stuck it in thinking that'd fix another issue. They are somewhat known for the ball at the bottom of the shifter being worn and having issues.

If that number is the serial number on the rear axle, it should have the curved shifter. Is that number from the engine? Shifters do not interchange between WD and W45.
