A gentleman I know has a brand new piston/wet sleeve kit for a 201 AC WC/WD engine made by M&W Gear Co., who seem to no longer be in business. Problem is their are no O ring/packing for the liners. Every one he has talked to says sorry, NLA, I have searched the internet to no avail for him as he does not have a computer. I say some one knows who can supply them or at least the size of the O ring. We just need to find that some one. Any and all replies to help him out would be appreciated, Thanks.

I would assume the outside diameter of the M&W sleeves would be the same as the outside diameter of the standard replacement sleeve? Otherwise how would the M&W sleeve fit the cylinder of the engine?

Funny, if your tractor is an IHC B, this site lists the oring you would want, but nothing for the AC WC or the WD. And if you got a WD45 you can get the seal.

The OD of the 45 sleeve isnt the same as that of the WD/WC now?

I'll add to the other response: do you or your friend own a Caliper, so you can post the sleeve OD where the seal seats? (If not, it would be a worthwile purchase, and for no more precision than your present and likly future needs are, a Harbor freight one would do) I don't have the resources avaible to me for the summer, but someone that dose would be more able to help you, if you post that measurement (ok, I might be able to come up with an online resouce that would hold the info to supply answers, but Id rather look in a print one: for me, theres some things Id just rather look up in a book, as in my opinion, some times its easier- and at 20 Im supost to be the computer generation, that wouldnt say that. Guess Ive spent too much time with my 65+ parents who like your friend, dont use the computer, such that I know both ways. :)

M&W Sleeves sometimes had a flat rubber ring instead of an o-ring because the overbore would make the sleeve too thin to support a round o-ring. If this is the case you will probably have a hard time finding a replacement.

Check with Volbrachts in Nebraska, might be able to help, worth a try. They mostly deal with IH M&W stuff.

The sleaves should use a standard AC O ring. The outside of the sleave doesn't change. Check with a local Agco dealer. If you don't have one around, check with Sandy Lake here in PA. LOL Bob

Thank you all for replying. I guess it's time to driver over and visit with the old gent to see what size and other information I can find. Perhaps their is some information on the boxes that he hasn't told me about that may help determine what he needs. I'll snap a couple of pictures as well of the liners.

Any M&W sleeves I have seen took a slightly smaller cross section diameter O ring. You should be able to take a sleeve to NAPA or a bearing seal store and get O rings off the shelf. They will not be a special order item at a store that sells bearings and seals. They also will be able to tell by the groove what the correct size that is needed for a proper seal.

the sleeve OD is the same, but the depth of the groove might be different. Some grooves are .095 deep and take a .125 o-ring, and some grooves are .125 deep and take a .150 thick o-ring. You can buy either from McMaster Carr over the internet. Just get the approx diameter of the groove and the thickness you want.
