D-17 change to negative groundelectronic ignition

You also need to reverse the connections on the coil and ampmeter. If running a generator you need to reflash it and change the polarity.

Had to scracth my head a minute about what Kip said about the ammeter but I dont think you need to change it as it only knows the direction of flow. You need to re-polorize the generator and depending on how old the regulator is you might have to change it as the older ones were polarity specific, the new ones are not. You also need to reverse the low tension wiring on the coil as he said

Ammmeter not ampmeter and Butch is correct except with the new polarity the ammeter will show discharge when charging and vice-versa unless you reverse the wires.

Fill in the blanks. Why do you want to switch from + ground to - ground?? You changing to an alternator or what?? If you not changing to an alternator then there is no rime or reason to switch. So give us more info so we can help you help your self
