Allis B acting up

Tried using the B yesterday and she just wouldn't start. Plenty of good gas so that wan't the problem. It would try to start and putter for a few turns but cut right out. Seemed to be running rough a bit. Not sure where to check for issue. I think changing the plugs should be a start. Am not able to get plug number but I think it's AC 45 if I remember. Maybe someone can give me the correct plug number. This tractor has worked very well for me and I haven"t had trouble with it starting when it"s cool. I do have trouble when it"s hot though. Also she has out door digs right now. Any help getting this thing running proper would be great.

Start by making sure your spark is a good blue white in color and will jump a 1/4 inch gap. If I remember right this B you have has a mag so be sure to listen for the impulse tripping.
As for the plugs I just ran out and checked the C I have sitting out there and it has auto lite 437s in it which seems to be a very good plug for this crap gas we have now days

Could it have gotten water in the ignition or down the exhaust? We have had a lot of rain here lately (I am in Oswego county so fairly close to you).

Thanks guys for the responses. It does sit out summers when I use it. I have a can over the stack and have had it that way for some years. Yes there could be the off chance that it got water in it. However I managed to get it running and work it for about an hour. It got bogged down and stalled and there she sits. Old I have had AC in it before but I"ll give these a try. Can"t hurt unless they are made of gold$$. To get do the process you describe is rather tricky with hand start. With all that moving around bout the only way would be in the dead of night. I just haven"t found a good way of checking the spark that way. I do hear the impulse clicking so I know it"s turning and making noise. I"ll get the plugs and give it another try tonight after work.

Ya hand start and checking spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap can be tricky if your doing it all by your self BTDT and do it all the time. Have a 1935 JD-B that is hand start and checking spark on it can be hard to do. You could always do it the ouch way. Pull the plugs and spin it over with one hand and hold a plug wire with the other one. If you jump a foot off the ground you know you have good spark. Bad thing is you have to try that 4 times to know you have it at all 4 plug wires

Most positive, cheapest and best I have found for a spark check is your thumb and index finger.
It works every time without fail daylight or dark.

Yes but if you can find that person who does not know any better I find that is better then my fingers. If you see them jump a foot or more you know the spark is good if they just say ouch or do not jump you know the spark is to weak
