allis brush hog -is it fixable?

I just broke the spindle in a pull type Allis 6 ft brush hog from Series era (60's). Unfortunately, I have not been able to find model / Serial number. I do have pictures I can post later.

In your experience is the spindle available either new or used? Or do I have a big pile of expensive iron?

Unsure the answer to your question, but does the mower itself look something like this?

YES - my paint is not as nice but that is the mower. In my
limited use it seems to be a very nice mower and it would be a
shame to lose it

Samuel, post your location, there might be someone near where you live, that has a 160 or 172 that has a rotted out top, or other problem, and could sell you the gearbox out of it. I have a complete pull type unit for sale, in central MD, $550. If anyone wants a 160 pull type, Email is open.

Have you thought about a machine shop, I snapped a shaft in one and had a new shaft made that was better than a replacement part.

I am in the northwest corner of Missouri.

As always the support and ideas from this site are excellent and appreciated.
