Fellas, Is there a way to remove the inner dust cover cap to the axle bearings without destroying it? I have been tapping with hammer and have tried prying on the dang thing and also put a large pipe wrench to it with no luck, its stuck fast!

I normally use a 12 inch big screw driver or a big cod chisle and a 2 pound hammer and drive it between the cap lip and the housing. Inch around the cap and keep prying it out a few thousands at a time untill it can be grabbed with channel locks.

Guys, Got the thing off. I done as Steve suggested and took a big ol "dull" chisel to it and didnt mangle it to bad. Dave love the slide hammer on visegrips deal, I thought about using my slide hammer but figured if I drilled a hole in the cap and inserted a screw to pull on I would end up pullin the screw out and just have a hole in the cap and it would still be stuck.(LOL) The visegrip deal is an idea I will have to try next time! As alway thanks for great advise guys!! Hoss
