I have a d-17 that I"m building a 3 pt hitch for and I need to know how long the lift arms need to be. Thanks in advance

That all depends on your design....using the Snap-Coupler, or something else? Lotsa variables there.

asae standards have the lower lift arm pin holes about 20 inches from the pto shaft. for the business end measurments, check out similar tractors with a tape measure. I had a document from asae meant for manufacturers/inventors with all the 3 point standards and there were also a lot of little details about geometry and physics to keep the implement from controlling your tractor when in transport or engaged in the ground. There were also allowable tolerances for the standard measurements, which usally varied within inches.
