I have a 1949 G with a cracked block or head. The number one pioston has anti freeze in the cylinder and the walls are pitted.I can not see any cracks in head or block. How can I tell and where do I find a replacement. Thanks

I would take it to a machine shop and have them magna-flux the block and the head to make sure there is no cracks. Some cracks don't open up until the engine gets up to operating temperature. Magna-fluxing will detect these small cracks if there are any...

I would not chance putting it back together with out knowing where the antifreeze leaked into the cylinder from.

Find out what caused the leak and post back on here. They are lots of ways to fix blocks and heads and you'll get some good advice, maybe save you some money.

A good machine shop can pressure test the block for cracks much better then magnaflux.think massey harris pacer or pony one of those used the same continental engine.
